How long have you been in business?
This year Open Vault will be celebrating our 6th birthday here in Sandringham. Since opening to a very warm response it has been a whirlwind. Some days we feel like it was just yesterday that we first opened our doors to Bayside.
Tell us about the Open Vault concept
We sell authentic designer and luxury pre owned fashion on consignment. We are here to bridge the gap between having to sell your items yourself online to strangers and earning money for your premium luxury pieces. We love that we are able to sell high quality designer pieces for a fraction of the retail price.
What inspired you to start your business?
Pete’s Mum is an inspiration to us both.
She has one of the original designer consignment stores in Melbourne and has been in business for close to 35yrs and counting, @secondobsession in Malvern East.
Is there something in particular that you would love people to know about your business?
Creating trust and credibility with our customers is very important to us and we go to great lengths to ensure all of our items are authentic, so so we offer an ‘authenticity refund guarantee’ on all our items.
What is one misconception people have about what you do?
A lot of people think we purchase items outright to sell. No, we sell on consignment on behalf of the general public – consignment meaning ‘an arrangement in which goods are left with a third party to sell’.
