Day 6 of Businesses of Bayside

Celebrating the local legends who make our community thrive! Today, we’re featuring Bron from @mrssmartphotography. She is a Photographer & Creative Professional with a keen eye!

Here’s her story:

How long have you been in business?

13 years

What inspired you to start your business?

I’ve always been interested in art and design, so I decided to study photography as a way to express myself and show how I see the world and its beauty. Sometimes it takes years though to truly find your style

What’s the ‘secret ingredient’ that makes you unique?

I look for soft light (which is more flattering!) and give people time and space to be themselves so I can capture those spontaneous moments on camera. People can be themselves. I also spend a lot of time understanding my client’s brief so I can source the perfect location for a photo shoot.

Is there anything about your business people may be surprised to know?

My eye for design can expand into styling, branding and creative marketing aspects of your business.” (Bron has done all of my business branding & photo shoots!

What is the best/most memorable compliment you have received from a client?

I sold one of my ‘landscape style’ fine art prints of a beach scene to a customer and she wrote the most beautiful message. She shared her story of grief and that she had set up peaceful room in house where she could do mediation and relax. She put my artwork as the centrepiece so she could rest her eyes on it during her meditation. It is very touching knowing your artwork can impact people in that way.

What’s one small business in Bayside you love and want to shout out?

So many! I regularly frequent @eclair_boulangerie for a baguette & coffee. My other new fave is @rackitclub – for pre loved fashion.

What would your signature cocktail be?

Something pink and classy and in a vintage cocktail glass!

Is there a small Bayside business you love and want to shout out?

Annie from Lucky Star Bakery (24 Waltham St, Sandringham). She is the best. Always a smile on her face and always so positive. And a very hard worker!
