How long have you been in business?
15 years in its current format.
What makes iTrain Dogs unique?
Canine behavior is fascinating to me. But when you combine it with the owners behaviors it gets even more interesting! I’m always looking to understand the owners situation to be able to get the best for the dog. From the environment to their personal strengths or challenges. You can’t have one without the other.
What is the best compliment you have been given by a customer?
When families involve me in a dogs passing is the biggest gift I could ever receive. I’ve had the most beautiful, memorable times spent grieving, and sharing memories of my involvement with their pets and feeling that made a contribution their life.
What’s your coffee and order and ‘go to’ bayside cafe?
Easy. Long Black at @thelimoncellocafe . @mikeymikehoyle Michael Hoyle (owner) will have a statue in Sandringham one day!
Do you ‘disrupt the status quo’ in any of your dog training techniques?
Maybe not disrupt! Sadly though, forceful and punishing methods still exist in dog training today. I try to make owners understand that good leadership and clarity do not have to involve dominance in training an animal.
What’s one small business in bayside you live and would like to shout out?
Studio Pets Sandringham @studiopets3191 Such a loved family business. Great products and knowledge. Haley and Sandra are local legends.
