Day 11 of Businesses of Bayside

Celebrating the local legends who make our community thrive! Today, we’re featuring Kyla Martin, Founder of ADHD coaching business – Empowered ADHD (empoweredadhd.com.au)

Here’s her story…

How long have you been in business?

I launched 3 months ago!

What inspired you to start your business?

As an entrepreneur, spotting market gaps and solutions is my ‘superpower’. Five years ago, ADHD entered my world with multi-teen diagnosis, lost self-esteem, exhaustion, missed deadlines, school meetings and anxiety, all in the final years of school. We were all overwhelmed. I was diagnosed at 52! My own career pattern made sense. I struggled to find the right practical day to day support. The GAP in the market was found…Empowered ADHD was born.

What is your particular coaching philosophy?

It’s about putting strategies in place that work with the ADHD mind. My main focus is empowering the individual by teaching them to lean into their interests, their strengths (awareness) and self efficacy to put in to place strategies that work for them. It’s through the success of this that helps to build self esteem and belief.

What is the most rewarding part of your business?

Seeing people succeed and celebrating their success. Seeing people’s confidence rise. Seeing them leave with the tool box of strategies that works for them for life now and beyond.

Do you need to be diagnosed with ADHD to have an ADHD coach?

No. We work with anyone who has ADHD symptoms they feel are holding them back.

Is there a local business you would like to shout out?

Yes, Lisa Skaife from @mydriveschool Also La Petite Societe, a cocktail & wine bar in Brighton – it’s like stepping into Europe!

Now is a good time to reach out to Kyla as her books have just opened so she has availability.
