How long have you been in business?
12 years
What inspired you to start your business?
I was a buyer at Cole’s, heading up a supply project to get local, fresh produce into the stores. But after about 6 months they pulled the pin on the project saying it was too hard, too expensive etc. I was ready to move on anyway, so I decided to do it myself. I felt there was an opportunity to initially offer a home delivery service to those who bought from a farmers market – because it’s only on once a month, how do people get their fresh produce on the other weeks? So I tapped into our local bayside (family owned) farm network and put together a service that supplies super fresh (picked & delivered same day) produce, which means it is at it’s highest optimal nutrition & taste levels.
What is your business purpose/mission?
It comes down to a whole community focus. Serving the community by supporting local farmers, reducing food miles, caring for the planet and nurturing our environment. I just love Bayside and the community and want many future generations to feel the same.
You offer an amazing range of products, not just fresh produce. Tell us about that.
I want to help keep people from needing to go to the supermarket – which helps remove the temptation to buy processed foods! Our range also includes bread, eggs, cheese, coffee, milk, juice, pantry & deli items, meat, lasagna, pies, salads etc etc – and even alcohol & kombucha! And it’s all delivered for free!
