Made redundant four times, nudged repeatedly by the universe, and armed with a white van and a willingness to back himself — Paul didn’t just pivot, he built something entirely his own, and somehow found his business partner in a steam room along the way.
What inspired you to start your business?
I spent most of my career in corporate roles across tech, data, and events—and was made redundant 4x (all part of mass redundancies). After a while, I started to feel like the universe was nudging me in a different direction.
I officially started this business in Feb 2024, but the idea had been brewing for years. I already had the white van from a side hustle during COVID—juggling a full-time job, a new baby, and working whenever I could. It took off quickly.
From Airtasker jobs to e-commerce, catering, and now removals and handyman services—it’s evolved fast. Six months in, I needed a second person… and that’s when (another) Paul came on board after a chance steam room chat! From there, friends joined to help and the business continued to grow.
What’s the magic that sets you apart?
It’s the people. How we show up, how we communicate, and how we genuinely look after our customers. Good communication is rare—and we make it a priority. We work hard, have fun, and we’re an active, energetic crew who care about doing the job properly.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen on the job?
From fridges being left unplugged and full for way too long … to couches with the bottom cut out as a result of a recent police drug bust, we’ve seen it all.
What do you love most about what you do?
The gratitude. Helping people during stressful moments and hearing how much they appreciate what we do makes it all worth it.
